Information Sessions for new Iowa State Residential Entrepreneurship Learning Community to be in March
Iowa State University students interested in joining or learning more about the new Residential Entrepreneurship and Innovation Learning Community may attend one of four planned information sessions later this month. The learning community is open to all majors.
The entrepreneurship learning community will be on the fifth floor of newly remodeled Buchanan Hall. It will house undergraduate and graduate students together in single or double suites in fall, 2004. It's the first residence at Iowa State designed for students who have either considered starting a business or may already be running one.
The information sessions are:
- Wednesday, March 24, 4:15 -5 p.m., Regency Room, Memorial Union.
- Thursday, March 25, 5 - 5:45 p.m., Room 258, Memorial Union.
- Monday, March 29, 4 - 4:45 p.m., Regency Room, Memorial Union.
- Wednesday, March 31, 5 - 5:45 p.m., Pine Room North, Memorial Union Food Court across from Subway.
Reservations are requested no later than 5 p.m. the day before each session to Melissa Harris, director of the Entrepreneurship Program Office, Room 127, Memorial Union, mharris@iastate.edu, 515-294-8007.
The first 35 students accepted into the program will help design and develop the learning community. In addition to the academic entrepreneurship classes, other potential areas for growth in the learning community include more mentoring by small business owners, expanded internship and scholarship opportunities and more direct business relationships between students and the Ames community.
